Rooms Division Manager


Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to the Managing Director:
The Rooms Division Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspect of Housekeeping, Front Office, Reservations, Revenue Management, Retail and Security. The Rooms Division Manager is also responsible for maintaining the standards of guest service in Rooms Division while ensuring set performance targets are achieved. The ideal candidate is hands-on, enthusiastic and extremely customer-service oriented. The candidate should have proven leadership experience in both Housekeeping and Front Office with the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and monitor Room Division budgets and forecasts.
• In conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper, Front Office Manager and Finance, organize purchases (including capital items) for the Rooms Division to meet the expense budget.
• Assist the Rooms Division management team in resolving guest concerns and complaints
• Work closely with the Managers regarding hiring, training, performance managing associates.
• Assist in developing of a training manual and update as necessary. Review key performance targets and adjust as necessary. Monitor performance with regards to setting and meeting key performance targets.
• Motivate, train, coach and monitor associates performance to ensure maximum revenue is generated. Ensure associates are informed of and trained on any new policies and procedures.
-Ensure guest service standards are consistently maintained.
• Ensure guest service standards are consistently maintained.
• Ensure compliance with Accounting procedures and cash handling policies and customer banking issues.
• Must be able to manage within legislative, budgetary and time constraints on a regular basis
• Must be able to deal with problem solving situations, and make judgment decisions
• Must be able to deal with issues arising from guest complaints (internal and external) in a timely manner using problem solving and de-escalation techniques.
• Prepare rooms division daily reporting.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• University degree or diploma or Hospitality Management; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum five years increasingly senior supervisory experience; preferably within the Front Office.
• Previous experience with rooms forecast and budgets
• Proficient use of Microsoft suite including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal, particularly the ability to correspond to guest complaints (in person and in written format).

Experience:
• Worked in a 4 Star hotel/resort: 3 years (Preferred)
• Front Office: 3 years (Preferred)
• Housekeeping: 1 year (Preferred)

Dining Room Line Cook


General Outline of Responsibilities:
We are looking for a professional line cook to join our team and assist in the operation of our recently renovated signature restaurant - Fireside Dining Room and Terrace. This position will be responsible for the food preparation of a new menu and the set up of line stations supporting the dining room kitchen operation. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction, while achieving departmental goals.

Detailed Responsibilities:
• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Assistant FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER

General Outline of Responsibilities:

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for leading all functions and banquet operations in the summer season and outlet operations in the winter season as resort needs dictate. The successful candidate must have a sincere desire to provide excellent customer service in a high volume environment while maintaining a motivated and organized workplace for the employees.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth and efficient functioning of both outlets and banquet division on a daily basis
  • Submission of payroll and cost-effective scheduling of all front of house employees
  • Responsible for inventory and ordering of liquor, beer and non-food items
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual product and labour objectives
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to front of house employees
  • Help maintain and enhance employee morale and a culture of excellence
  • Ensure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate
  • Maintains a constructive, harmonious and communicative working relationship with all supporting departments
  • Expand cocktail menu to showcase Elk Ridge Resort and Saskatchewan

Executive Housekeeper


Creating an engaging work environment for colleagues of Elk Ridge Resort is as important as creating memorable experiences for our guests. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Department Head role, leading a housekeeping team of 2 Assistant Managers, and 10-25 staff.
• Creating systems and processes to organize the department (SOPs, Credit System, Inventory, Training Program, Physical Space)
• Actively involved in the recruitment, interviewing, and on-boarding of new housekeeping staff
• Overseeing the operational aspect of ensuring the overall cleanliness and maintenance of all guest rooms and public areas within the hotel and field units, consistently adhering to property policies and standards
• Assist in handling guest feedback and follow through on action taken
• Liaise with Front Office, Maintenance and other related departments to coordinate guest service and resolve emerging issues promptly
• Ensure high morale and productivity levels through staff planning, recruitment, training and development and on-going communication including performance reviews and career development discussions
• Oversee general office administration including payroll, scheduling, lost and found, ordering supplies and inventory control, including uniforms
• Daily monitoring of labour, expenses, and preparation of monthly reports
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that all employees are committed to working safely
• Ensure that all WCB Claims are reported to the Human Resources Manager, handled promptly, and effectively and manage the Return to Work program
• Foster an environment of open communication and creative problem solving

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in Houskeeping leadership position with proven training and team building skills
