Executive Chef


Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to the Managing Director:
The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the culinary team and operations at Elk Ridge Resort. This includes the management and design of the culinary program for Fireside Dining and Terrace, Walleye’s Pub and the banquet department. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is cooperative and creative. The candidate should have proven leadership experience in the culinary department with the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:
• Ensure smooth operation between front and back of house
• Menu planning and food costing
• Monitor product quality, quantity, pricing
• Ensure recipes are followed to achieve consistency from prep to plate
• Manage staffing levels to ensure efficient labour as demand dictates
• Responsible for staff training
• Create menus for events, weddings, banquets and conferences in cooperation with Executive Chef
• Recruitment and performance management of culinary team in cooperation with Human Resources Manager
• Work with Food and Beverage team to provide best possible guest experience
• Accept and address guest complaints in professional manner to ensure optimal guest satisfaction
• Ensure adherence to kitchen policies, procedures and standards
• Lead staff meetings to inform staff of functions and priority guests

Spa Professionals

General Outline of Responsibilities:

Salacia Spa at Elk Ridge Resort is seeking certified Estheticians for our busy 2019 summer season. Imagine belonging to a spa team that delivers luxurious treatments to its guests while infusing the resort lifestyle in every experience. Are you someone with excellent attention to detail, that never settles for second best?

By offering relaxation-based treatments using Eminence products, our team of Estheticians pamper and delight our guests to add to their memorable experience at Elk Ridge Resort. Qualified candidates will need to possess a friendly and professional demeanor while providing our guests with first class service. Estheticians are expected to perform a variety of treatments including manicures, pedicures, facials, and relaxation massage.

This position requires training and education hours from a reputable educational institution. Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Must be able to thrive in a remote, small town environment. Resort or Destination Spa experience would be an asset, but not necessary.

Rooms Division Manager


Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to the Managing Director:
The Rooms Division Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspect of Housekeeping, Front Office, Reservations, Revenue Management, Retail and Security. The Rooms Division Manager is also responsible for maintaining the standards of guest service in Rooms Division while ensuring set performance targets are achieved. The ideal candidate is hands-on, enthusiastic and extremely customer-service oriented. The candidate should have proven leadership experience in both Housekeeping and Front Office with the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and monitor Room Division budgets and forecasts.
• In conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper, Front Office Manager and Finance, organize purchases (including capital items) for the Rooms Division to meet the expense budget.
• Assist the Rooms Division management team in resolving guest concerns and complaints
• Work closely with the Managers regarding hiring, training, performance managing associates.
• Assist in developing of a training manual and update as necessary. Review key performance targets and adjust as necessary. Monitor performance with regards to setting and meeting key performance targets.
• Motivate, train, coach and monitor associates performance to ensure maximum revenue is generated. Ensure associates are informed of and trained on any new policies and procedures.

Dining Room Line Cook


General Outline of Responsibilities:
We are looking for a professional line cook to join our team and assist in the operation of our recently renovated signature restaurant - Fireside Dining Room and Terrace. This position will be responsible for the food preparation of a new menu and the set up of line stations supporting the dining room kitchen operation. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction, while achieving departmental goals.

Detailed Responsibilities:
• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Accounting Clerk


The primary focus of the accounting clerk is to assist the Controller with the financial & human resource activities of the company.

Such assistance includes, but may not be limited to:
• Accounting & balancing daily cash receipts
• Maintaining & balancing inventory controls
• Assist in preparing & maintaining all payroll functions
• Maintaining the annual budget
• Assisting with accounts payable & accounts receivable functions
• Coordinate/manage/file all employee forms
• Coordinate/manage/file employee benefit plan
• Coordinate/manage staff housing
• Other miscellaneous administrative duties as required

Requirements:

Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets is a requirement. Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience would be an asset.

Successful applicant must be bondable & capable of working in an unsupervised environment.

Typical working hours are 8 am – 5 pm (40 hrs/week) with some weekend work required.

This a full time, year round position. Starting date flexible but must be no later than August 15, 2019.

Salary range $20-$22/hour commensurate with abilities, training & experience.
