Elk Ridge on the Lake is our second property, in the heart of the Waskesiu townsite itself. Steps from the lake, the beach, and the marina, it’s the option for guests who want to be in the action of the townsite, with the lake as your front yard.
The building has five suite layouts ranging from a one-bedroom for couples up to a three-bedroom for larger groups. Each suite has been updated with new flooring and kitchen appliances, and every guest has access to a shared barbecue patio for evenings outside.

Sleeps up to four | One queen bedroom, kitchen, balcony with a lakefront view.
The One Bedroom Standard Suite is built for couples and small families who want to be right on the lake. One queen bedroom (either enclosed or open-concept depending on the unit), a full kitchen with an oven, and a private balcony where you can take in the view in the morning. With a sofa bed in the living room, the suite comfortably sleeps up to four.

Sleeps up to four | One queen bedroom, open-concept, accessible bathroom
The One Bedroom Accessible Suite is designed for guests who need extra accessibility features in the bathroom. The bedroom is open-concept, the flooring is hardwood throughout for ease of movement, and the bathroom and shower are equipped with grab bars. With a sofa bed in the living room, the suite sleeps up to four. If there’s anything specific you need to make your stay comfortable, give the front desk a call before you arrive, and we’ll make sure it’s ready.

Sleeps up to eight | queen bedroom, two double beds, full kitchen with dishwasher
The Two Bedroom Standard Suite is a good fit for families and groups who want a bit more room to spread out. One enclosed queen bedroom and a second enclosed bedroom with two double beds. The kitchen has a dishwasher, which makes a real difference if you’re cooking for a group. With a sofa bed in the living room, the suite sleeps six to eight, depending on configuration.

Sleeps up to six | Two queen rooms, full kitchen & dishwasher, lower-level patio access.
The Two Bedroom Executive Suite gives you two queen bedrooms in an enclosed layout, which works well for two couples travelling together. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and while this suite doesn’t have a private balcony, you have access to the shared patio with common barbecues on the lower level. With a sofa bed in the living room, the suite sleeps up to six.

Sleeps up to ten | Three bedrooms, east-facing balcony, our largest suite at the lake.
The Three Bedroom Upper Executive is our largest suite at Elk Ridge on the Lake, with one queen bedroom, one bedroom with two double beds, and one bedroom with a double bed. The east-facing balcony sits on the quieter side of the building, away from the bustle of the lakefront. With a sofa bed in the living room, the suite sleeps eight to ten. The right fit for extended families or larger groups who want to stay together.

Elk Ridge on the Lake puts you in the heart of Waskesiu. The lake is across the street, with the beach and marina a short walk away. Restaurants, shops, and the rest of the townsite are right outside the door.
You also have full access to our main resort, Elk Ridge Resort, about 8 minutes south. The saltwater pool, hot tub, gym, and seasonal activities (hiking, biking, skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more) are open to you as a guest. Our 27-hole golf course, Drift Spa & Wellness, Fredrich Café and Fredrich Inspired Kitchen + Cocktails, and the Wyld are all a short drive away.

No. The suites at Elk Ridge on the Lake are not air-conditioned. If you’re staying during a hot stretch in July or August, we’d suggest packing accordingly and keeping windows open through the cooler evenings. If air conditioning matters for your stay, our main resort accommodations south of Waskesiu are a good alternative.
Elk Ridge on the Lake is in the Waskesiu townsite itself, on the lake, within walking distance to the beach. The main resort is about 8 minutes south, in the boreal forest, on our 27-hole golf course. If you want to be in the heart of the townsite with the lake as your front yard, choose Elk Ridge on the Lake. If you want golf, the spa, our restaurants, and a forest setting, choose the main resort.
The Three Bedroom Upper Executive sleeps eight to ten and is our largest suite at the lake. For groups in the six to eight range, the Two Bedroom Standard Suite has flexible sleeping with one queen bedroom and a second bedroom with two double beds.
Most do. The One Bedroom Standard Suite, the One Bedroom Accessible Suite, and the Three Bedroom Upper Executive all have private balconies. The Two Bedroom Executive Suite does not have a private balcony, but you have access to the shared lower-level patio. The Two Bedroom Standard Suite balcony situation varies by unit. Please confirm with the front desk if a private balcony matters for your stay.
The main resort is about 8 minutes south by car, just outside the Waskesiu townsite. Most guests drive over for golf, dining, or spa visits and return to the lake at the end of the day.
